How Much Does SRQ Tennis Cost? Programs and Pricing
If you want to know the SRQ Tennis cost before you call, here it is in plain numbers. SRQ Tennis is a junior tennis program in Sarasota, Florida, run by Coach Michael Boothman, a USPTA Elite Professional with more than 30 years of coaching. This post lists every program, every price, and every policy. No upsell, no fine print, no "request a quote." You read it, you know it, you decide.
We coach at public parks, not private clubs, so there is no membership fee on top of the price. What you see below is what you pay. SRQ Tennis keeps groups small (six players max) and the pricing reflects that choice.
Group programs: 10 & Under and Youth Development
Most families start in one of our two group programs. Both cap at six players, so every kid gets real reps and real feedback inside live rallies.
10 & Under (Potter Park). Ages 4 to 10. Monday through Thursday, 4:30 to 5:30 PM. Pricing is $150 every 4 weeks for one session a week, $275 every 4 weeks for two sessions a week, and $40 for a single drop in. This is where the foundation gets built: contact quality, athletic ready position, and tracking the ball off the bounce.
Youth Development (Pineview Park). Ages 11 and up. Monday and Wednesday, 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Pricing is $225 every 4 weeks for one session a week, $425 every 4 weeks for two sessions a week, and $60 for a single drop in. This program moves into pattern recognition, point construction, and competitive habits.
Why "every 4 weeks" instead of "monthly"? Because some months have five weeks and we won't charge you for a session count that doesn't exist. Four weeks billed, four weeks of tennis. Simple.
Private lessons and the summer camp at Stoneybrook
Private lessons. $110 an hour, with a 60 minute minimum (we don't offer shorter sessions). If you buy a six lesson package, it's $570 total, which works out to $95 an hour. One on one with Coach Michael, video review when it helps, and a plan built around your player.
Summer Tennis Camp 2026 (Stoneybrook Country Club). Ages 6 to 16, running June 1 into early August. Full day runs 9 AM to 2 PM, half day runs 9 AM to 12 PM. Here is the full price list:
- Full day: $425 a week
- Half day: $325 a week
- Early bird rate: $399 a week
- Full summer package: $3,400
- Single full day: $100
- Single half day: $75
- Sibling discount: 10%
Camp is the same live ball method we use all year, just more hours of it. For a closer look at a camp day, read our breakdown of live ball from day one at the Stoneybrook camp.
What you actually pay for (and our policies)
Premium pricing only means something if the player gets something real back. At SRQ Tennis the price covers small groups, live ball practice, and progress you can see in numbers. That last part is the pillar we lean on hardest: Confidence Is Built, Not Given. We track real targets and report real results, so a parent paying $275 every 4 weeks can see the player go from 6 out of 10 to a target one week to 8 out of 10 the next. That is the evidence the price buys.
It also buys live decisions, not machine fed reps. Under the pillar Live Ball Is the Method, the bulk of court time is real rallies, because reading spin, bounce, and angle is the skill that transfers to a match. You can read more about why in the Six Pillars, our full coaching philosophy, and you can see how we measure movement up the ladder in the SRQ Tennis Player Development Pyramid. If you want the research behind starting kids on the right ball and court size, the USTA covers it well in its youth tennis guide.
Now the policies, stated plainly so there are no surprises:
- Private cancellation. 48 hours notice or more, full refund. 24 to 47 hours, a $75 fee. Same day or no show, the full session is charged.
- Group classes. No makeups. 30 days notice to cancel a membership. It is a monthly commitment, though drop ins are always welcome with no commitment at all.
- Weather. No refunds for weather. When SRQ cancels, we offer a makeup class. Players check the status two hours before class.
The cost per session math
Parents who compare programs usually want a per session number, so here it is. In the 10 & Under group at $150 every 4 weeks for one session a week, you pay about $37.50 a session. Step up to two sessions a week at $275 every 4 weeks and it drops to about $34 a session, because the second session is priced to reward consistency. Youth Development runs about $56 a session at one a week ($225 every 4 weeks) and about $53 a session at two a week ($425 every 4 weeks).
Now hold that against the cap of six players. In a group of six, an hour of coaching splits six ways but the feedback does not get diluted the way it does in a class of twelve or sixteen. You are buying coaching density, not just court time. A private at $110 an hour is the most focused option, and the six lesson package at $570 brings the effective rate to $95 an hour. Spread those numbers next to a country club where you pay a membership before a single lesson, and the public park model gets cheaper fast.
No membership fee, ever
This is the part families miss when they compare a price to a club. SRQ Tennis coaches at Potter Park, Pineview Park, and Stoneybrook. There is no initiation fee, no monthly club dues, and no annual minimum sitting underneath the lesson price. A drop in is a drop in. A group rate is the group rate. The premium in our pricing pays for the small group and the coaching, not for a clubhouse you will never use. For most Sarasota families that is the difference between tennis being a line item they can plan around and tennis being a club bill they dread.
Quick reference and FAQ
What is the cheapest way to try SRQ Tennis? A single drop in. $40 for the 10 & Under group, $60 for Youth Development. No commitment, just show up once and see if it fits.
Is a private lesson worth it over a group? Different jobs. A group gives live ball and match style reps with peers. A private gives focused one on one time on a specific skill. Plenty of families do both. Neither one is always the right answer.
Are there hidden fees? No. No club membership, no court fee, no registration fee on the group programs. The number you see is the number you pay.
Do you offer a sibling discount? At summer camp, yes, 10% off. Text us about more than one player and we will sort it out.
